Girls Lacrosse: Patriots Overcome Halftime Deficit to Down Notre Dame

FORT WASHINGTON -- Lucia Smigiel '24 scored five goals and Gigi Ippoldo '24 had three as Germantown Academy defeated Academy of Notre Dame, 10-7, to earn its first Inter-Ac League win. 

Hadley Harbert '24 and Kiki Steffens '26 each had a goal as the Patriots snapped a four-game losing streak. Cate Luviano '24 added a team-high seven draw controls, while Sadie Hess '25 picked up 14 saves in the win. 

The Patriots got out to a hot start, leading the Irish 2-0 after one quarter of play. However, Notre Dame came alive in the second frame, outscoring GA 4-1 and taking a one-goal lead into halftime. After the break, the red, black, and blue tallied seven goals to ND's three, sealing the victory. 

Germantown Academy returns to action on April 23 when they travel to Academy of Notre Dame for a 3:30pm start.
